I believe in miracles, wishes and prayers. I believe in love at first sight, second chances and No regrets. I believe in making the most of every minute to the fullest. I believe in kissing in the rain, late night movies, and breakfast in bed. I believe in wine, ice cream, and pickles with pizza. I believe in best friends. I believe in love no matter how scary it may be. I believe in musicals, slapstick comedies, and black and white classics. I believe in singing in the car and using the steering wheel as a drum. I believe in kisses on the forehead and holding hands. Most of all I believe that anything can happen and that everything happens for a Reason <3

What I’ve Learned…

Next Spring I will be graduating and holding a Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies in the very palm of my hands. Something that we all work so hard towards is sooner than not going to be a reality. Finally on my way to reaching all my goals and seeing my dreams come true. So even though it is a year away I know it will fly by and I can’t help but wonder, what have I learned…?

So when I sit down and think about it, I’ve realized that in the past few years I have learned much more than how to write an essay with perfect citations, how to cram for an exam, and what Thoreau meant when he wrote Civil Disobedience. I’ve realized that these past few years have taught me much more than the book smarts I received  through what seems like an endless assortment of required classes. A year from now when I walk past the stage, flip my tassel, and receive my diploma (even though the one received on the actual commencement is fake haha) I will be taking knowledge and experience more important then that I learned in a lecture hall. In the past few years I have learned what it means to love unconditionally, be heart broken, how to forgive and move forward, who deserves forgiveness, who and when to trust, that a best friend may not always be your best friend but your family will always be your family. I have learned that sometimes when we need to let go and live carelessly and when we need to reject the late night partying for a nice family game night. I’ve learned that it’s okay to be hurt, it’s okay to cry, and it’s okay to have a bad day as long as you can rise above the hurt and pain in order to grow. I’ve learned that I love myself for me, that the only way to reach complete satisfaction is to wake up every morning, take a breath, and try to be at your best. We are all going to have off days, days when we feel down, days when we want to quit, days when nothing seems right but the most important thing is to always remember that you are strong enough to take on the world and that the little fall outs we experience in life will only make us stronger. The last few years I’ve had my highest of highs and my lowest of lows but when I’m done I’ll know that everyday is a day to grow, experience, and realize that we are never done learning.
